Storage Guidelines
Clean and Dry: Ensure the straight edge is clean and dry before storing it. Any dirt, debris, or moisture can cause rust or damage.
Protective Case: Use a protective case or sleeve specifically designed for the straight edge. Many precision straight edges come with such cases, which provide cushioning and protection from environmental factors.
Horizontal Storage: Store the straight edge horizontally on a flat, stable surface. Avoid placing heavy objects on top of it to prevent warping.
Vertical Storage: If horizontal storage is not feasible, store the straight edge vertically in a protective case, ensuring it is secured and not leaning or subjected to pressure that could bend it.
Controlled Environment: Store the straight edge in a controlled environment with stable temperature and humidity levels to prevent corrosion and deformation. Avoid areas with high humidity or temperature fluctuations.
Avoid Magnets: Keep the straight edge away from magnets, as magnetic fields can affect its precision.
Periodic Inspection: Regularly inspect the straight edge for any signs of damage or wear. Clean it periodically to remove any accumulated dust or debris.
