Description
APRICA NPT DIE NUTS
(NATIONAL PIPE TAPER THREAD (AMERICAN THREAD)
NPT stands for National Pipe Thread, which is a type of thread used for pipes and fittings in the United States. NPT threads are designed with a slight taper, which allows the threads to create a tight seal when they are tightened together. The taper is typically 1/16 inch per inch of thread, which means that the diameter of the thread decreases slightly as it approaches the end of the pipe.
NPT threads are commonly used in plumbing, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and in many industrial applications. They come in various sizes, ranging from 1/8 inch to 12 inches in diameter, and are available in both male and female versions.
It is important to note that NPT threads are not compatible with other types of threads, such as BSP (British Standard Pipe) or metric threads, and should not be interchanged.
